CREATIVE MOVEMENT GATHERING- 2 more classes before taking a break!

Dates: Sun 7 Jan & 4 Feb 2024. For details see Classes & Workshops.

I can offer Supervision now!

I took this opportunity to train to become a supervisor this October and now I am certified to offer Supervision to Dance Movement Therapy trainee students and practitioners, as well as those who are working in therapeutic/helping professions and keen to explore and incorporate body awareness and body based approach into their work.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT GATHERING

*THE CLASS FEE HAS CHANGED.
I gave a long thought about this and have decided to adjust the price to reflect the quality and contents of the class from this year. Previously I wanted to set the cost low for this class hoping it would provide a wider accessibility. However, it is important to value our practice including our commitment, training, and ongoing professional development. I will continue to offer accessible fees for those who find the new price prohibitive. Click here for more details.

JAN-MAY 2023 schedule is out!

I look forward to dancing with you and sharing our stories in the new year!!

I have finished touring around lutruwita, Tasmania with Second Echo Ensemble.

Second Echo Ensemble is an inclusive local performance company based in nipaluna (Hobart) and I’ve been part of this wonderful team since August 2020. We have recently come back from our tour, delivering community workshops and performances in regional areas for 3 months altogether. It was such a valuable experience. It gave us the opportunities to connect with the beautiful local communities and deliver the voice and dance that need to be heard and seen.
The show was called “Outside Boy” and is a story about Charlie, and directed by Charlie himself. Charlie struggles when growing up as someone who has learning difficulties but eventually finds a way to navigate life and voice to speak up.
I think we all can relate to this story in some ways because I believe we all have/had moments or times where we feel/felt like an Outsider. It invites the audience to witness, feel, hear the unheard voices, and reflect. The show had so many elements, such as live music, sound, image projections, puppetry, dance, theatre…and audience was encouraged to be involved. Many audience commented that they were completely immersed in it.
I’m so grateful I could be part of this tour!

Recently I got certified as a facilitator in The BodyMind Approach (TBMA)!

- TBMA is designed to work with people with Medically Unexplained Symptoms and derived from Dance Movement Psychotherapy. I hope to be abe to reach those who might benefit from this approach.

♪ Thank you so much for joining us for “Fusion Dance Pot” on 6th February 2021!

In collaboration with two ladies from India and Peru, we ran a multicultural dance workshop.
We taught/shared 3 different cultural dance forms and later incorporated Dance Movement Therapy approach to celebrate our unique movements.

It was such a joy and an honour to witness all the beautiful movements brought into the space by the participants!

《Dance Movement Therapy - Winter Taster Sessions》

~ Reconnecting to ourselves and others in the pandemic through body wisdom~

Testimonials

These 5 weekly Dance Movement Therapy taster sessions will be an opportunity for you to come together and reconnect with yourself and others in this "new" world after the lockdown, through moving, sharing each other's stories, and reflecting together.

We will focus on understanding and nurturing our individual and collective experiences during the pandemic, and exploring emerging themes such as social distance and isolation as well as ways to connect to others by engaging in body movements, to help us move forward with deeper awareness.

Dance Movement Therapy allows us to bring awareness to our bodies and express ourselves through creative and natural body movements and responding to our body-felt senses.

★Important notice★

*Please note that participants are required to attend all 5 sessions. This is to create a safe, intimate framework where participants feel safe to engage in a deeper experience and for the group to evolve over time with a sense of continuity. *Payment is made prior to the commenceof the first session and there will be no refund in the case of cancelation or absense.
